Red and White
Type: Streamer (Bass)
Tyer: Dick Sisco
Hook: Down eye, 3X long
Body: Red Thread. Coated with epoxy or Nail Polish (I use Red Sally Hanson's Hard as Nails)
Wing: Sparse bunch of crystal flash under four white saddle hackles tied at bend
Hackle: Red. Tied as a collar.
Note: This is my "go-to" attractor pattern for bass and Northern on Minnesota lakes. When there's no surface activity and minnow immitations aren't working, this fly is often successful for bass. Among the weeds, it often picks up Northern. And it gives a little protection from the teeth of big pike, though I've had more than a few bitten off. It is based loosly on several saltwater flies for tarpon. And it is simple enough for me to tie.
